Action 1: New York Residents: Demand that NY Legislators Uphold the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act
Adapted from NY Renews
Governor Hochul is holding the state budget hostage. It was supposed to be out April 1st, but given the Governor’s backwards stance on climate action, it looks like it’s going to be an ongoing battle.
As the climate crisis accelerates, superheating our air and dumping ever-more pollution and greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere, New York should be making bold steps toward renewable energy, battery storage, and funding community-led climate efforts. But Governor Hochul is using budget negotiations to weaken key provisions of NYs historic climate law, the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA). She is refusing to accept that renewable energy is more affordable and faster to deploy than fossil fuels or nuclear, not to mention cleaner and safer. She’s also refusing to acknowledge that much of the power to kickstart a clean energy transition that keeps prices and pollution low is in her hands.

Let's reach out to our state legislators and urge them to hold the line against Hochul's attacks on the CLCPA and our communities. Follow the link below to fill out a form which will automatically send a pre-scripted message (which you can edit) to your state Senate and Assembly members. Takes 5 minutes. https://act.nyrenews.org/advance-and-defend-ny-s-climate-law?stcid=2651491
Action 2: Tell your Governor to Stop Sharing Your Data with ICE
From Chop Wood Carry Water 3/31/26
ICE is using our DMV data to track protestors. This isn’t getting enough attention, and we need state governors to put a stop to it. They need to hear from you. Here’s a very easy action item that takes 30 seconds:
1. Follow this link: https://democracyactioncenter.org/noicedata
2. Scroll down and copy/paste the message.
3. Select your state. It’ll take you to your governor’s contact page.
4. Paste the message. Edit it however you like. Click send.
Action 3: Democrats and the DCCC Must Not Take Money from Lobbying Firms Tied to Elon Musk and Peter Thiel
From Chop Wood Carry Water 3/2/26
Sludge recently reported that Hakeem Jeffries and the DCCC are taking money from two lobbying firms tied to Elon Musk and Peter Theil. This is repugnant. Let’s use the "Contact Us" form on the DCCC's website to let them know what we think of this:
I was disturbed to learn that the DCCC and many Democratic leaders are taking money from Invariant, a lobbying firm that takes money from Palantir and SpaceX, as well as Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, a Palantir lobbying firm. This is unacceptable.
How can we trust the Democrats to have moral clarity when they're taking money from companies that are run by Peter Thiel and Elon Musk? As we're trying to provide an alternative to the abuses of ICE and the other horrible Republican policies, we need to demonstrate that we actually oppose the organizations that are fueling this regime. Stop taking this money.
