Action 1: In Wake of Whistleblower Report, Demand Official Guidance on Making Votes Count
From Rogan's List 9/2/26 and Chop Wood Carry Water 9/1/26
“A US Postal Service official has alleged that the agency is moving forward with a ‘secretive, rushed’ effort to implement President Trump’s order exerting federal control over mail voting, despite a court order blocking those plans,” the New York Times reports. The USPS whistleblower is warning that millions of Americans are at risk of not receiving their mail-in ballots as a result. This is a moment that demands leadership from our elected officials and from us.
Call or email your senators and House rep and tell them to publicly and forcefully defend democracy and the rule of law. Write your own script or use this one:
I’m appalled at whistleblower reports that Trump is proceeding with his sabotage of vote by mail. If the USPS is allowed to keep acting in violation of court orders millions of Americans will be disenfranchised. I am urging you to speak up for democracy and the rule of law and make it clear to the White House that there will be consequences for undermining this election. Thanks.
Action 2: Investigate Abuses of Flock Camera Data
From Chop Wood Carry Water Law 8/31/26
Law enforcement officers are misusing Flock surveillance camera footage across the country. Please use the Intercept’s tool to write to your state’s Attorney General and urge them to open an urgent investigation into the abuse of Flock surveillance cameras by law enforcement. Action 3: Let's Thank These Brave Judges
From Rogan's List 8/14/26
Facing threats, political pressure and a Supreme Court majority that has frequently not had their backs, lower court judges are still doing vitally important work to keep this administration’s power within the bounds of the law. (Making it all the more important Democrats hold the line on keeping Trump from stacking the courts.) Let’s write a note or postcard to acknowledge their work and send encouragement to keep fighting.
Judge Indira Talwani ruled in June against an executive order Trump signed in March, which, amongst other attempts at election interference such as creating voter rolls, tried to limit mail-in voting. Such attempts are unconstitutional as the states and Congress, not the president, have the power to regulate elections. The administration appealed in July and tried to get around Talwani’s ruling by having the U.S. Postal Service effectively enforce these restrictions. Talwani’s latest ruling bans the USPS from any involvement in election interference and issued an injunction against anyone changing the rules of the midterm elections so close to when they are to occur – some as soon as next month.

Judge Michael F. Urbanski has ruled that two schools in Virginia which in 2024 reinstated Confederate names removed in 2020 are glorifying the state’s segregationist history and violating the 14th Amendment. He ordered those schools to return to the 2020-2024 names or choose new names which promote equality.

Make calls with Citizen Action of NY to voters in Republican Mike Lawler's district (NY-17):
Tuesdays: https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/885487/?utm_source=roganslist
Phone bank with Citizen Action of NY to talk to people living in New York's 17th Congressional District about what issues matter most to them & how policy decisions at the federal level are impacting their everyday lives in the Hudson Valley.
Make calls with the PA House Democratic Campaign Committee: https://www.mobilize.us/pahousedemocraticcampaigncommittee/?tag_ids=212
Pennsylvania Democrats are shooting for a trifecta in November by expanding their majority in the state house and taking back the majority in the state senate. This would allow Democrats to redraw congressional maps, raise the state's minimum wage to $15/hr, and legalize marijuana. Shifts are available most days.
Make calls with the Environmental Voter Project: https://www.environmentalvoter.org/get-involved
The Environmental Voter Project is a nonpartisan, nonprofit focused on identifying an estimated 11.2 million environmentalists who did not vote in the 2024 presidential election and efficiently converting them into a critical mass of consistent voters that will soon be too big for politicians to ignore.
