Action 1: Justice for Nurul Amin Shah Alam

From Rogan's List 3/3/26

Nurul Amin Shah Alam was found dead on the street in Buffalo, NY on February 24th, five days after the U.S. Border Patrol realized he was a refugee ineligible for deportation and dumped him on a corner. He was a blind and seriously ill Rohingya refugee abandoned miles away from his home and his family was not notified of his release. The Department of Homeland Security claimed he was given a courtesy ride to a warm, safe location near his last known address and that he had no disabilities requiring assistance. Newly released video proves that, once again, DHS lied – the coffee shop where they dropped him was closed and temperatures were below freezing.

Shah Alam should be alive and the deportation agents who caused his death should be held accountable. Let’s reach out to Erie County District Attorney Michael Keane and NY Attorney General Letitia James and tell them we are expecting anyone found to have committed a crime in his case to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Get contact info for Michael Keane here and for Letitia James here (choose 'Send the AG Feedback'). Write your own script or use this one.

The death of Nurul Amin Shah Alam in Buffalo at the hands of DHS agents was shocking and needless. We know for a fact that the agents lied about what happened and should be held accountable. I'm asking you to ensure that this incident will be fully investigated and that anyone found to have committed a crime is prosecuted. Thank you.

Update: on 3/6/26, the Investigative Post reported that AG James had opened an investigation into the death of Shah Alam. The text of the suggested script to AG James is still appropriate but you could also thank her for opening the investigation.

Action 2: Four Years Later, We Still Stand With Ukraine

Adapted from Rogan’s List

It's been 4 years since Vladimir Putin began a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. U.S. intelligence reported at the time that the Russians expected to be in Kyiv in 72 hours. Kyiv, and all Ukraine, still stand and still fight for their freedom.

In the last year, they’ve done so with considerably less support from the United States. The Trump regime very publicly attempted to bully President Zelenskyy and repeatedly halted and deeply reduced military aid, leaving our European friends to try to fill in the shortfalls. Negotiations are stalled as Russia continues to demand Ukraine give up territory they haven’t won, and the White House is putting pressure on our allies to make more and more concessions.

Congress has proposed multiple bills to deepen sanctions on Russia that have earned bipartisan support. We need to put our country firmly on Ukraine’s side again and move forward with them. Let’s reach out to our members of Congress to demand action on new Russian sanctions. Write your own script or use this one.

It’s time for Congress to move forward on new Russia sanctions. We just passed the fourth anniversary of the invasion, and it’s clear to everyone but the White House that Putin has no interest in peace. We’re sending a dangerous message to the world, especially Russia and China by bullying Ukraine. No peace deal should bow to Putin's demands for Ukraine to make unreasonable concessions. We need to put the pressure back where it belongs. Thank you.

Extra Credit: Consider helping Ukrainians keep up the fight by donating to any of the following funds:

  1. Give to humanitarian relief and medical aid with Razom

  2. Help provide soldiers on the front line with equipment with Come Back Alive

  3. Back the official national defense fund at United24

Action 3: A MAGA Media Monopoly in Progress

Adapted from Rogan's List 3/3/26

The family of Trump-aligned billionaire Larry Ellison, which already owns both CBS and TikTok, is now poised to take control of Warner Brothers, including CNN. Since the Ellison takeover, CBS has spiked a 60 Minutes segment on the abuses of Trump’s abductees in El Salvador and buried an interview with Democratic senate candidate James Talarico. Now this one household is now set to dominate a huge percentage of the American information environment. This is a massive amount of power to shape our news and entertainment. Robert Reich devoted an recent newsletter to this topic - it's an excellent read.

The American Prospect’s David Dayen has highlighted the power of state attorneys general to file antitrust suits to block the merger. California’s Rob Bonta has already opened an investigation.

Contact your Attorney General and ask him/her to work with other state AGs to challenge this takeover. Find contact info for your AG here. Write your own script or use this one.

I am very concerned about the impending takeover of Warner Brothers and CNN by Larry Ellison, who already owns CBS and Tik Tok. One family should not have this much power to determine what news we see or don't see. Please work with other AGs to file antitrust suits to block this merger. Thanks.
