Action 1: Contact your congressmembers regarding the shutdown (If it is still ongoing)
From Jessica Craven at Chop Wood Carry Water 11/6

[If Democrat]
I hear that some Democratic Senators are considering giving in to Republicans. Do not! We must not give them any votes unless they agree to a PERMANENT extension of the ACA premium tax credits, as well as guardrails so that the Trump administration is forced to spend money Congress allocates. Do not fold! The Senator saw what happened on Tuesday. We are motivated. We are galvanized. We will have the Senator’s back as long as Democrats don’t cave. Thanks.
[If Republican]
Republicans need to sit down and make a deal with Democrats now. And that deal must include a PERMANENT extension of the ACA premium tax credits, as well as guardrails to ensure that the Trump administration spends the money Congress allocates. Americans are done with Republican leadership. We want lawmakers who will fight to lower our healthcare costs, root out corruption, and stand up to Trump. As you saw on Tuesday, we are ready and willing to replace any lawmakers who don’t. Republicans need to sit down with Democrats right now and give them what they want. Thanks.

[If Republican:]
Republicans need to come back to DC and get to work. Did they see what just happened on Tuesday? Americans have had it. We are tired of Republicans’ failed leadership. Congress must permanently extend the ACA premium tax credits and then reopen the government. In the meantime please push Trump to release full SNAP funding. People are hungry—it’s not a joke! Trump is a failed leader who is dragging his party to obsolescence and defeat. I expect the Congressmember to reject MAGA policies and start working for us, not against us. Thanks.
Action 2: Thank these judges who are upholding the rule of law
From Joe Katz at Rogan's List 11/6
Facing threats, political pressure and a Supreme Court that has frequently not had their backs, lower court judges are still doing vitally important work to keep this administration’s power within the bounds of the law. Let’s acknowledge their work and send notes of encouragement to keep fighting.
District court judge Jill Otake ruled that the FDA violated the law by restricting access to medication abortion. Thank Judge Otake for defending access to reproductive choice.

Judge Paula Xinis demanded assurances from the administration that they will not attempt to deport KIlmar Abrego Garcia to Liberia despite a court order against doing so. This is not just about a single case, but about requiring deportations to be legally compliant. Thank Judge Xinis for requiring the administration to comply with court orders.

Federal judge Indira Talwani is querying the legality of the administration suspending SNAP benefits and other food aid during the shutdown, when there is a process in place for funding food aid in these circumstances. Thank Judge Talwani for pushing the administration to use emergency funding for food aid.
