Data Center Campaign Kickoff

  • Trinity Church 371 Delaware Avenue Buffalo, NY, 14202 United States (map)

We cannot allow the billionaire class (and the wannabes) to run roughshod through our communities, trying to push through the building of massive 300-500MW data centers while disrupting, if not destroying, the beautiful, clean waterways, wetlands, wildlife refuges, nature preserves, and tranquil star-lit nights that we worked hard to restore following the chemical plant scourge of the 1950s-80s. Love Canal, a foamy Niagara River, cancer rates, and more taught us about what capitalism run riot can do to communities that become nothing more than the Petrie dishes and trash cans for industries interested only in profit.

We’re facing a destructive Gold Rush once again, to get these data centers up in communities all along our freshwaterways. Damning wildlife, waterways, electrical grids, human wellness, and serene night skies to sound, light, chemical, and traffic pollution, waterway depletion, and assaults on our electrical grid. Suddenly adding 300-500MW data centers to our electrical grid is like suddenly adding a city to it.

Come to the meeting. We all need to learn, grow, and build solidarity if we are to push back on this onslaught!
