Action 1: Tell Congress to impeach Pete Hegseth and release the full boat strike video

Adapted from Joe Katz at Rogan's List 12/4 and Jessica Craven at Chop Wood Carry Water 12/5

From the very beginning, it was clear that Pete Hegseth was wildly unfit to lead the Pentagon. His record of financial mismanagement, substance abuse, right-wing extremism, defense of war criminals and accusations of rape seemed more suitable for a restraining order than a Cabinet position. That’s never been more clear than in the last few days. Even as outrage grows over reports that Hegseth ordered the U.S. military to commit war crimes, the Defense Department’s inspector general has released a report on Signalgate concluding that his failure to follow basic security protocols jeopardized sensitive military information that could have endangered American service members.

Call or email your senators and House rep urging them to impeach Hegseth and release the boat strike video. Write your own script or use this one:

Pete Hegseth is a disgrace and his incompetence is a serious threat to America’s national security and to our active duty troops. He must be investigated and impeached! Also, the full boat strike video must be released to the public. Americans deserve to see what happened. Thanks.

Action 2: “News, Not Slop” week of action targeting misuse of AI in journalism

From Joe Katz at Rogan's List 12/3

We’re fighting authoritarianism with a mainstream media that all too frequently has not been up to the challenge and an information environment that’s deeply compromised and actively being poisoned. We’re now facing a whole new set of complications with the increased and haphazard use of artificial intelligence in journalism.

The NewsGuild, a leading union for journalists and media workers, is leading the fight to enact protections on the use of AI that will make sure we can trust the news we’re reading and that there’s a human behind it. This week marks their “News, Not Slop” Week of Action to draw attention to their demands for the ethical use of AI in journalism.

The Environmental Voter Project is a nonpartisan, nonprofit focused on identifying an estimated 11.2 million environmentalists who did not vote in the 2024 presidential election, and efficiently converting them into a critical mass of consistent voters that will soon be too big for politicians to ignore.
